Rikin Mehta is challenging Senator Cory Booker in the race for New Jersey’s Senate seat.
Mehta is a biotech entrepreneur, healthcare policy expert, and a licensed pharmacist and attorney. He currently owns and runs a consulting firm and works as a partner at Licentiam, a healthcare licensing technology firm. He has previously worked as a Consumer Safety Officer at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Mehta was an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center and at Rutgers University’s School of Health Professions. He holds a J.D. from Rutgers University, a Pharm.D. degree from the University of Arkansas, and a joint LL.M. from Georgetown University and the Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Republican primary in New Jersey was scheduled on July 7, 2020. Mehta won the crowded primary election with 38% of the vote.

Accusing his opponent for his support of the nuclear agreement with Iran, Mehta stated that he himself will “never fund a terrorist agenda that threatens Israel and turn [his] back on Jewish brothers and sisters.”
