Joshua Hawley was born in 1979 and is currently serving as the junior United States Senator from Missouri. Senator Hawley was elected in 2018 and his seat will be up for election in 2024.
Hawley attended Yale Law School, where he led the chapter of the Federalist Society and received a J.D. degree in 2006. He worked as a professor of law at the University of Missouri. In 2016, Hawley successfully ran for Attorney General of Missouri. He became the first Republican Attorney General in Missouri since 1993. As of 2019, he is the youngest current member of the Senate.
Senator Hawley is currently serving on the Judiciary Committee; the Armed Services Committee; the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee; the Small Business and Entrepreneurship; and the Special Committee on Aging.

Senator Hawley supported the U.S. embassy move to Jerusalem, and in 2019 voted for the Strengthening America’s Middle East Security Act which, among other things strengthens Israel’s security, and allows a state or local government to adopt measures to divest its assets from entities that boycott Israel.
He has cosponsored a resolution that opposes efforts to delegitimize the State of Israel and the global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement that targets Israel.
In June 2019, Senator Hawley cosponsored the Anti-Semitism Awareness Act, which aims to provide for the consideration of a definition of anti-Semitism for the enforcement of Federal antidiscrimination laws concerning education programs or activities.
