Barbara Bollier was born in 1958. She is running to replace retiring Senator Pat Roberts in the race for Kansas’ Senate seat.
Barbara Bollier is a physician and politician who currently serves as a member of the Kansas Senate. Her legislative career began in 2010 when she was appointed to serve in the Kansas House of Representatives. She represented the 25th district in the state House of Representatives until 2012, and the 21st district from 2013 to 2017. Since 2017, she has represented the 7th district in the Kansas Senate.
Bollier was a member of the Republican party until 2018. She switched parties and become a member of the Democratic party in 2018. Prior to entering politics, Bollier earned an MD from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and worked at Surgicenter of Kansas City. After retiring from medicine in 1999, Bollier volunteered with the Center for Practical Bioethics.
The Democratic primary in Kansas took place on August 4, 2020. Bollier won the primary with over 87% of the vote.
